How do I know which class is the best fit for my child? Our recreational classes are organized by age and skill level. For children under age 5, our class divisions are based solely on age with ages 1-3 in our Teeny Tumblers class and ages 3-4 in our Hot Shots class. For ages 5+, we offer Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced classes based on skill level. A child will enroll first in the Beginner class. Once their skills progress, the student may complete an evaluation with certain skill requirements on floor, balance beam, bars, and vault to move up to the Intermediate class. There is also an evaluation with certain skill requirements on each event in order to move from the Intermediate to Advanced class. Evaluations are scheduled through the front desk. We also offer a Tumbling class for ages 6+, which focuses exclusively on floor and tumbling skills (no balance beam, bars, or vault skills). In addition to traditional gymnastics classes, FGA offers a free running and movement-based ninja style gymnastics class called Extreme Gymnastics. A child ages 5-12 starts in the Beginner Extreme class, and must pass a skill evaluation to enroll in the Intermediate Extreme class. Evaluations are scheduled through the front desk, and the student must have completed at least one month in the Beginner class before completing an evaluation.

What do I need to know for my child’s first day of class? How can my child be well-prepared for gymnastics class? At your child’s first day of class, you will check-in at the front desk, complete the Enrollment Form, and submit payment for your child’s class. Your child may wear a leotard or athletic clothing to participate in class. Your child will have bare feet during class. If your child’s hair is long enough, it needs to be up, out of their face. What do I need to know about monthly tuition?Monthly tuition is due the 20th of each month for the upcoming month. FGA can accept cash, check, or card payments at the front desk for your child’s tuition payment. We can also accept card payments over the phone. Monthly tuition is a fixed fee based on your child’s enrollment in class. FGA does not adjust or prorate tuition charges due to absences or holiday closures.

What if my child will be absent from class? My child missed her scheduled class, do you offer make-up classes?"FGA offers 3 makeup classes per calendar year available to you if your child is absent due to injury or illness. Makeup classes must be scheduled through the front desk within one week of the absence. If FGA is closed for a holiday during your child’s regularly scheduled class during the monthly session, we offer a complementary makeup class that does not count towards your 3 per calendar year. Makeups for holiday closures must be scheduled through the front desk within one week of the closure.

How long is my child enrolled in classes for? Is it a month-to-month program?FGA's classes start in *September and continue through the following August. For your convenience, FGA holds your child's spot in class for the full duration of the class schedule. Unless you notify the front desk of your intention to cancel enrollment, your child will be enrolled through August when you register for classes. This continuous enrollment provides consistency for your child as they develop greater strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and skills within the sport of gymnastics. In order to best benefit your child’s progress in the sport of gymnastics, FGA does not offer a month-to-month program. If your child is unable to complete the full enrollment period, we do offer flexibility to unenroll in class with advanced notice provided to the front desk by the 15th of the month to cancel enrollment for the upcoming month. *Morning, Friday, and Saturday classes DO NOT continue through the summer months. They end after the May session.

What if I need to make changes to my child’s enrollment after we sign up?FGA requires advanced notice for any changes in your child’s enrollment. Please notify the front desk by the 15th of the current month if you would like to make a change in your child’s enrollment for the following month. For example, if your child is enrolled in classes 2 days per week and you would like to decrease to 1 day per week, please provide this advanced notice to the front desk.

What if I need to cancel enrollment and withdraw my child from class?FGA requires advanced notice to withdraw your child from class. Please notify the front desk by the 15th of the current month if your child does not plan to continue in class the following month. If we do not receive advanced notice, you will be billed and responsible to pay monthly tuition for your child’s class even if your child does not attend, because your child was enrolled and took the spot in the class. Unless you notify the front desk of your intention to cancel enrollment, your child will be enrolled through August when you register for classes.
